Claire Warner (nee Hughes) has worked in the field of Fundraising since 1997. Prior to a freelance career, Claire held in-house fundraising roles at Imperial War Museum North, Opera North and the Hallé Orchestra.
Whilst a pupil at Chethams School of Music, Claire decided life as a professional musician wasn’t for her. With no other career choice in mind, Claire undertook a degree in Business Studies at the University of Humberside.
On graduating in 1997, Claire secured a role in the Halle’s Development Department. There, she discovered a passion and flair for asking people for money and hasn’t looked back since!
In 2003, following the successful completion of the Imperial War Museum North Capital Appeal, Claire decided to leave inhouse employment and set up her freelance business. Since then work has been vast and varied, encompassing Arts, sporting and caring charities.
Chris Hughes (Claire’s Mum) joined Claire on an increasingly part-time basis towards the end of 2005. Since then, working as a mother and daughter team, Claire and Chris have worked on contracts with some well known organisations from across the region.
Chris tends to concentrate on research, contact-making and administration based behind the scenes while Claire does the customer/client facing active fundraising as well as Consultancy work. They make an effective well-balanced team. The majority of their work is undertaken in their Bolton office with regular travel both locally and around the country.
